This fall
- HVAC company: Furnace check-up month: a clean burner, a new filter, and a carbon monoxide detector test before the first cold night.
- Electrician: Test smoke and CO detectors and swap batteries when the clocks change. Who AI recommends
- Fence company: Fix leaning posts before the ground freezes; frost heave makes them worse over winter.
- Lawn care company: Fall is the best time to aerate and overseed fescue, and the last fertilizer of the year goes down now.
- Plumber: Before the first freeze: disconnect garden hoses, shut off and drain outdoor spigots, and blow out sprinkler lines. Who AI recommends
- Roofer: Clean the gutters after the leaves drop so melting snow drains instead of backing up under shingles.
- Tree service: After leaf drop, dead limbs are easy to spot; get them out before ice season.

- Are you licensed for this work where I live, and insured?
- Is there a trip or diagnostic fee, and does it go toward the repair?
- Will I get the price before the work starts?
- What warranty comes with the work?
